Only Footage of Mark Twain, shot by Thomas Edison

This may be a bit old (video was first posted in 2007) but it is still worthy.

Twain is shown walking around his home and playing cards with his daughters Clara and Jean. The flickering is due to film deterioration.

It is believed to be the only footage of Samuel Clemens, popularly known as Mark Twain. Here it shows him taking a stroll and smoking a cigar in his signature white suit. The clip was shot by none other than the inventor and pioneer of American filmmaking, Thomas Edison, on Twain's Connecticut property a year before he died. A fan of science and technology, Twain was friends with Edison and Nikola Tesla, and even patented a few of his own inventions, including this handy elastic clothing clasp.
